Chapter 8 Chevrons
Chapter 8 signs…
By offering a quick turnaround service for the application of Chapter 8 vehicle chevrons, our sign writers ensure that your vehicle is not out of action for any longer than it needs to be.
We also offer nationwide fitting for where a fleet of vehicles require signwriting.
As part of our 4 year Visible Quality Guarantee, we only use the highest grade materials for our chevron signwriting, ensuring that your commercial vehicle will remain visible for years to come and the vehicle signwriting will be protected against harmful elements.
We offer chevron sticker kits as well as being able to sign up your vehicle in Telford, Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury and the rest of the West Midlands.
Fully customisable, it is possible to have reflective chevrons for your motorway maintenance vehicle as well as magnetic decals for a less permanent solution for your highway maintenance van or car.
Maintenance vehicles need to have a Highway Maintenance or Motorway Maintenance legend when they are working on motorways.
These have to be of a certain size to comply with legislation.
Also, in temporary traffic management situations, inspection, supervisory, maintenance and management vehicles require a Highway Maintenance sign that must be applied to the rear of the vehicle.
Reflective vinyl livery makes vehicles highly visible – an advantage for promoting your business but also important when considering safety.
Chapter 8 livery is specifically designed to have high visibility at night when artificial light passes over them and are fitted to vehicles that need to be visible because of the nature of their work.
All of our highway maintenance chevrons are fully compliant with the guidelines set out by the Department for Transport.
Previous Project: Vehicle livery in Shropshire
It felt incredible recently to be approached by Exascale based in Telford, Shropshire to apply their new vehicle livery.
We teamed up with them on this project from initial design through to applied graphics, here’s how we did it…
Exascale approached us ahead of their roll out of full fibre gigabit broadband in Telford, Shropshire.
They knew they wanted Chapter 8 chevrons applied to the rear doors and already had a logo to use, but they needed some creative input on the rest of the vehicle livery design.
As a first step, we asked what existing designs they like among their competitors and their wider industry.
Using these as a base and following a couple of revisions we had the striking side detail nailed down, linking in with the motion of broadband and giving the design some fluidity.
As part of our Visible Quality Guarantee, the design work was included free of charge and the graphics are now guaranteed for 4 years.
Step 1: Your needs
Regardless of how you choose to make contact with us, whether it is via email, telephone, social media or at our premises in Telford, Shropshire, our first step is to fully understand your requirements.
A brief period of consultation is required for any project to ensure it will be successful and that you will be completely satisfied.
We’ll also enquire as to the timescale in which your project needs to be completed, so that we can aim to meet your deadline.
As our product range is so diverse and bespoke, this is the most important step to take and for large signage projects we always suggest a site survey is undertaken by our sign makers.
This allows us to take accurate measurements, ascertain health and safety requirements and ensure that we are manufacturing your signs just how you need them.
For smaller signage projects or for where fitting isn’t required, we will ask how long you would like your signs to last and whether they are for interior or exterior use, this allows us to suggest the best type of material for your project.
Where your signage is being positioned must also be considered in order to choose appropriate dimensions and make your signs visible.
The first step of a vehicle graphics project is to ascertain the make and model of vehicle that you have.
Providing the year of the vehicle also allows us to pinpoint the exact body shape that we will be working with and the scope of the design that can be applied.
At this point we attempt to gain an understanding of what type of vehicle graphics you are looking for, for example, standard signwriting or wrapping.
Step 2: Your quotation
Once we have a good understanding of the size/structure of your signs or the make/model of your vehicle along with the type of design then we can calculate a quotation.
Upon receiving your quotation, you’ll be made aware of any deposit (if any) that we need to secure from you before works begins on designing your signage or vehicle graphics.
Step 3: Your design
Design is a key part of our visible quality service, if you have an exact design already or just a broad idea, it is no issue.
Our free design service means that we can produce a proof (an image of how your sign or vehicle signwriting will look) based on any existing design work that you can supply (completed design, logo, text or just a colour scheme) and then send it to you so that it can be altered until you are completely satisfied with it.
This stage of the process is often conducted via email so that it is easy to keep an audit trail of the alterations made.
We never move onto the next step of the process without ensuring that you are happy with your design.
Step 4: Your appointment
This will either involve fitting signs or vehicle graphics at your location, booking your vehicle in to be driven to our premises in Telford, Shropshire or giving an estimate of delivery time of your signs.
If you are collecting your signs then you’ll be notified they are ready for collection once they have been manufactured.
Previous Project: Fleet livery in the West Midlands…
Recently, we were approached by Dale Brothers based in Telford, West Midlands to brand their Volkswagen van in their corporate identity as well as applying high visibility Chapter 8 graphics.
This project forms part of our relationship with Dale Brothers to maintain their fleet livery across their range of temperature controlled lorries and vans that cover the West Midlands.
We used long-lasting vinyl for this fleet livery project that included their logo, tagline and website address.
We find that having as little contact information as possible on fleet livery works best, as otherwise it makes the vehicle graphics design busier and therefore it becomes less likely that somebody will remember the business that the livery is promoting.
We fitted high visibility Chapter 8 chevrons to this fleet vehicle, in accordance with Highways Agency standards.
For a cleaner aesthetic, white vinyl was applied to block out the rear windows, allowing the vehicle graphics design to stand out more than it would have done if it had been applied directly to the glass.
We understand how important consistency is with fleet livery and therefore always maintain an identical look and feel across different vehicles within a fleet, even if the vehicles vary in size, make or model.
Keep an eye out for this range of fleet livery in the West Midlands!
Previous Project: Vehicle graphics in the West Midlands…
It felt great to be chosen by Stag Services recently, based in the West Midlands to apply their vehicle graphics.
We offer a mobile fitting service throughout the West Midlands, however as this was a local company, the vehicle was brought into our premises in Telford.
We do recommend that vehicle graphics projects are completed at our premises, as we can ensure the highest quality finish.
Upon being initially contacted, we listened to what Stag Services were hoping to achieve from this vehicle graphics project.
They stated it was important that their logo be noticed as much as possible to catch people’s attention.
They also wanted to include their types of work and trade certifications to build trust with their potential customers in the West Midlands.
After issuing a proof of what their design would look like, we settled on a suitable time for the vehicle graphics to be applied.
As part of our Visible Quality Guarantee, we only ever use the highest grade materials.
This ensures that we can guarantee a high quality finish for 4 years after a van graphics project has been completed.
As well as this, we only have certified vehicle wrappers complete our vehicle graphics projects, ensuring the correct procedures are followed.
Maximum durability and protection of vehicle paintwork are two advantages of holding this professional certification.
